There are a few useful tools: MemoryStick: <http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/13636> This will show you the number of swapfile and active/inactive memory, and warn you when paging. MenuMeters <http://www.versiontracker.com/dyn/moreinfo/macosx/17713> It gives much more detailed status in many areas. But you need to be careful of polling since, as top also does, polling eats CPU. And my favorite: GeekTools, which I can't live without. <http://projects.tynsoe.org/fr/geektool/> I use this tool to monitor system.log and console.log on my desktop. I also run shell command 'vm_stat' to monitor my vm status which is displayed on my desktop as well. This tool is essential to recording session work I do since it gives me early warning in case of trouble. -- - Hiro Hiroaki Honshuku, A-NO-NE Music, Boston, MA <http://a-no-ne.com> <http://anonemusic.com> _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [email protected] http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
