I run a little Mackie 14 channel mixer into a power amp, but I have several MIDI devices that I need to mix, so that would definitely be overkill for you. Resist the temptation to buy a cheap line mixer more than ten years old second-hand at a pawn shop, as the early models that would be affordable have a hiss that will eventually drive you completely nuts. I think there are some very inexpensive solutions out there, I remember seeing a line amplifier in a box about the size of a computer mouse with stereo in and stereo out powered by a battery or a wall wart that was perhaps $30 or so.

My MIDI has very limited volume if I connect it directly to an AUX IN on

How do my colleagues on the List amplify their MIDIs? Please describe your set-ups.
