I really owe Crystal a huge apology!
It was my original reference to "The Emperors Clothes" and *my* perception
of the "Art" as being like traffic diversion banners- to which Crystal gave
qualified agreement!
Since then that lovely lady has been harangued, berated and, for some
reason, required to defend her view!
I personally thought it arty-farty rubbish! That's MY opinion. You won't
change it. If you wish to waste time trying- go for it!
Cheers anyway- let's all enjoy being different!!

Excuse me, but there certainly are schools in NYC who have no resources.
My
friend teaches in a school that has no books or other such aids to help her
teach mentally disadvantaged children.
If the young lady who made the statement
>actually knows about such a school, she ought to notify the region
>superintendent's office immediately instead of ranting about what
Martians may think of us.
See, now this is what I mean about spitting fire at me. Ranting? All I
did
was express my reaction to the Cristo project. So what if I didn't like
it?
Why does anybody care? It was just my reaction, not my platform on
funding for the arts or some sort of diatribe against the artists
personally. Was I rude to you or anyone else?
And the superintendant is acutely aware of the schools that are
disadvantaged. They don't have the money to do anything about it. The
schools that have the most money are the ones with a parent association
populated by more affluent, dual-income families, parents who both know how
to raise money and are willing to put in the time to create money-making
events. I have two children, the youngest of whom is 13, and I have had a
little experience with this and am not just talking out of my hat.
I still don't understand why you ascribe such importance to the fact that I
didn't like Cristo and Jean-Claude's art. I just didn't. I'm glad you
did.
God bless you for appreciating it.
