In fact, this 2,000-page treasury of chant was published in order to restore the original splendor of the Church's chant. Now you can use it to teach yourself and others the words and music of these magnificent chants - and to recapture the sense of the sacred that this music once made a part of every Catholic's worship experience. "The Liber Usualis With Introduction and Rubrics in English Edited by the Benedictines of Solesmes Originally published in 1952; keyed to the Church's old liturgical calendar 2,045 pgs --------------- If Dennis is in France he could wend his way to Solesmes and presumably get a copy there. The Solesmes website sells books on-line. They have an extraordinary rich collection of publications available in French, English and Italian. Clearly, the folks how compiled the Liber Usualis still represent the intellectual and musical hardcore. Curiously, I wasn't able to find the Liber Usualis among their publications. Probably owing to Vatican II. http://www.solesmes.com _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [email protected] http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
