In my Brenreiter scores of Handel operas, the convention used is No. 1
(last measure / double barline and fine measure / final barline). In
Bach oratorios (Peters edition) there is a final barline at the printed
end of the aria (with the indication "da capo") and the fine is just
indicated with a fermata on the note where the aria should finish,
without even the word "fine" (it wouldn't look good to put a final
barline here, since these arias usually end on the first note of a
measure). I think I've seen some books of popular music where
convention No. 2 is used, but I can't find one at the moment. Do what
makes sense for you!

Dear list,
To end a part when D.S. al fine set in the last measure :
1- last measure / double barline and fine measure / final barline?
2- last measure / final barline and fine measure / double barline?
Another ideas?
Pierre.
