This is why I posed the question in the first place! I have dealt with dozens and dozens of 18th Century manuscripts of concerted sacred Latin choral works from Austria, Germany and Italy, and this is the first time I have seen tromba parts in alto clef. And yes, these are definitely trumpet parts, not trombone parts.
