This (along with the lack of justification) shows that they've 
implemented this "feature" in a really half-assed way. Comments 
should be a separate field in the expression definition, not a non-
printing part of the expression itself.

Perhaps it was easy for them to implement it this way, but it sounds 
like it wouldn't have much value.

Or, at least, cause almost as many problems as it solves.

This is the kind of bullet-point feature that might tempt me to 
upgrade, but once I've heard the reality of it, I recognize that it's 
not at all what it pretends to be -- I can definitely get on just 
fine without it.
