Contacting the college or checking their website is a good idea. Be sure
to determine if they have wireless Internet access for students and, if
so, get the specifications for the wireless card before you buy the
machine. Our students use it heavily. As for vendors, I've had good luck
with both Dell and Gateway laptops. One warning: the college bookstore
may not be the best place to buy a machine. Our bookstore sells a
"no-name" brand and, from what I've heard from students, they have a lot
of problems.

receive on this topic.  The college bookstore may sell machines, too.
