I use a Samsung SyncMaster 191t plus (19" flat panel) with PivotPro
software. The monitor swivels to allow for portrait or landscape viewing. I
recommend the setup. I have used it for about a year and works well with
Finale and general use.

Subject: [Finale] OT: What to look for in a TFT monitor?

In the next month or so, I might finally buy a new TFT monitor (I have a 17"

CRT at the moment). I'd like a slightly larger size (19-21"). I have to
admit, having only had to buy a separate monitor once, I'm a little in the
dark as to what I should be looking for regarding specification. I will be
primarily using it for Finale, some sequencing and audio work, and
occasional gaming (though that's a secondary consideration).

Obviously things like angle adjustability and are things I would know to
look for, but what other specifications should I be looking at?

Also, I know there is software available to use monitors in portrait format
(can't remember the name of it), presumably this would require a special
stand/arm, and no monitors would be setup for this out of the box?

Cheers,

C.
