This small rule (both in showering and rebooting, the latter of which I do every day under heavy usage..for that matter I do the former the same or more under heavy usage as well) has kept the Finale overwrite bug away for me (breaking the former keeps people away....which isn't always a bad thing save those who I really like to be around...you know who you are!) So I would have to agree with Christopher in total noting that he is much more thorough in his research and findings.
As far as I understand the file overwrite bug has nothing to do with rebooting, it is a bug in Finale.
