Can a divisi part (mistakenly) entered into a single voice/layer in Speedy be divided easily into up stem/down stem notes?

Not EASILY, but if it is a very long passage, this procedure might be worth it.

Mass Edit, choose the passage in question.

Hit 2, which is the Mass Edit metatool for Explode.

Choose to divide into 2 staves, create new staves to put the exploded parts.

If there is any unison, you will have to repeat the procedure, only splitting this time from Bottom Up, so that you end up with two staves without rests where the unisons are supposed to be. Or use TG Tools Smart Part Explosion instead of Finale's built in exploding.

Select the lower of the new staves, Change Layers in Mass Edit to Layer 2.

Choose both staves, hit 1 (metatool for Implode.)

Copy the resulting passage to the proper staff, and delete the extra staves that were created.

You may have some editing to do on slurs, articulations, and the like, to get them on the proper sides.
