Oh, yeah. I forgot about that force show problem.

The meter expression method is much easier and more reliable since Fin04. I would create two separate numeric text exps, with Horz. pos set to "Start of Time Sig" and Vert. pos set to "reference lines" with -24 evpu and -72 evpu vertical offsets, respectively (for 24 pt music fonts). Then everthing lines up automatically, including any tempo markings set to "start of time sig".

TGTools Add/Remove space is really useful for making space for the phony time sig. It's unfortunate that you can't use Fin05's system-level space-before option. The problem there is that once you hide the time sig, the "start of time sig" expressions jump over to the start of the music.

Assuming the Trio and Menuet have different meters, set the first bar of the Trio to Always Hide Time Sig. Then insert the time sig as a meas-attached expression.

(If they are the same meter, then obviously the problem does not arise.)

Well, actually, it does. I was surprised by this, but simply making the meter show (which it should) will also make it show a cautionary.

I guess the expression method is the only easy way out of this.
