In processing older files of mine, I frequently want to move layers
with these recurring settings:

  Layer 1 -> 3
  Layer 4 -> 1

Each time I choose it, I have to reset the checkboxes and the
dropdowns (it would be nice if two things were added here, 1) if when
you changed a dropdown, the checkbox would automatically check
itself, and 2) if it would retain the last state from use to use, as
is the case with the rebeam to time signature dialog). I'd love to
have a shortcut key for this, and since mass edit metatool 5 is
something I would never under any circumstances use, and since I
currently never use metatool 9, I'd be happy to use either of them.

But it seems that I can't change metatool 5. If I hit SHIFT-5,
nothing happens. If I hit SHIFT-9, I'm taken to the transposition
dialog, but can't figure out how to change that.

Are the Massedit metatools hardwired, so that 5 can't be changed, and
so that 6-9 can only be attached to transpositions?

Is the only way to do this with a macro program (I'm not about to
start mucking around with that -- this kind of thing belongs in the
program itself)?
