Hi all,

I use both Finale and Sibelius. Although the extra steps mentioned here for Sibelius are exaggerated, nevertheless, there is no way that Sibelius can match Finale with the economy of keystrokes that Richard is looking for.

If I were faced with a plethora of fingerings (or anything else for that matter) in a Sibelius project, I would make use of one of Sibelius' major strengths, which is its copy facility: select a nearby fingering and right click where it needs to be replicated; it appears copied in the new location, waiting to be nudged as needed.

Finale allows the creation of a shortcut for each individual
fingering.

But I do think I wouldn't mind the step of typing the fingering
number, were it not for the extra steps.
