Although I have a Yahoo I.D., due to membership in yahoo lists, I've never used the mail, so maybe there is something in Yahoo that precludes this, but I've found the email client built into the Mozilla Browser (and separate stand-alone client, "Thunderbird mail") to be quite stable and mature. It does thread my email lists, (although it sometimes does wierd things, tagging a message onto a very old thread, left because of my failure to do a good job of deleting old messages), and I am also quite pleased with the "spam" and "junk mail" filtering capabilities.
