Yes, I'm quite well aware of where all the properties sheets for 
these things are. There's also more information available via the 
Device Manager, but all of it is what Windows detected based on the 
driver installed, and I'm not sure I trust that information (it's 
been wrong in other situations).

Well, that's obviously either a different version of Windows you're 
using (I'm on Win2K -- hate WinXP, and would never use it unless 
forced to), or it's driver-specific. 

I have no properties sheets that give the modes supported.

Phil, I do this kind of thing for a living, so I don't really need 
instructions from you for how to look up this information, especially 
when you don't seem to be aware of the aspects of your advice that 
are OS- and driver-specific. If I gave that kind of advice to my 
clients, they'd quickly lose confidence in my level of competence.
