Well, sorry about the unintended insult! I had thought for sure that 
I'd remembered that you hadn't just stopped participating in the 
list, but had left MM entirely -- dunno where I got that idea.

I'm reading this as meaning you are refactoring the existing codebase 
to prepare for re-architecting that is going to be required in the 
future. That's an excellent investment of time for any codebase, and 
takes a huge amount of work and testing, and has no visible result 
for the users!

Well, you're honesty, integrity and patience in explaining the 
details to us is something that I, for one, miss on the list.

But I certainly understand how this list could be too hard to keep up 
with.
