I think I agree with you! After all, (to sail VERY close to the wind), the
assertion is around that the acronym for "File Under Carnal Knowledge" used
to be placed on Police files- thus creating the slang term for- well, you
know!
I suspect that story is a load of rubbish!
Yes, that particular story is in fact rubbish. Many people believe this acronymic origin for the f-word. Many people are mistaken.
"Phat" is the same deal. It clearly comes from "fat" (especially, "fat beat" in early hiphop) and there is no plausible evidence to the contrary, Crystal's children notwithstanding. I suspect they got that faux-acronym from the same Chris Tucker movie she did.
At any rate, the word has been out of fashion for at least five years now, which probably explains why it's currently up for discussion on this list:
4. Phat
<x-tad-smaller>A word used by white suburban kids who think they are gangster to describe something "cool"/stupid and used to describe how "gangsta"/gaudy their wigger friend's ricer is.
</x-tad-smaller><x-tad-smaller>wigger: YO YO YO DAT RIDE IS PHAT
Me: No. It is insanely gaudy.</x-tad-smaller>
