Read the finale web-site -- there's a list of NI sample sets which are
compatible with Finale2006's integrated VST (Native Instruments only,
apparently) sample player.
I think you are misunderstanding. You must pay extra to use these. Or
did I misunderstand what you were saying? Fin2006 supports other
products to be used with, but not sample set per say.
This is nothing new to DAW. Nowadays any sequencer can instantiate plug-
in that you bought separately. GPO is one of them but is included with
Fin2006 as exception. This doesn't mean your other sample library, such
as AKAI sample disks I own can be used with Finale without paying $500
for Kontakt.
Yes, you have to pay extra for those but you don't need Kontakt to use
any of them with Finale2006, at least the way I read all the publicity
and Jari's review. I never said anything about whether they were free
or if they cost extra. I'm sorry if I gave the impression they were
available for free.
NI sound sets can be used with Finale2006. Any other sound sets, such
as AKAI samples, that Kontakt can use will require the purchase of
Kontakt. And that isn't integrated with Finale2006.
