Hello again Robert,
I think I do fully understand how "backwards" this decision is but I was trying to make a point about the basic logical aspects of this decision and not some of the more in-depth issues because frankly you understand it and I understand it but it's ridiculous that MM does not understand the simple aspects of this decision which was part of my point.
All I can see right now is that Mass Mover or now called Engraver Copy and Paste is limiting its power by gaining a few new features (copying to other documents and copying clefs) and your Mass Copy can really be the "Engravers Choice" (which I use religiously especially for fixing tuplets). How will this shift in logic affect your plugin? Does it not affect you or have you not seen the new PDK yet?
I will not be writting MM until my copy of 2006 arrives. If I hear anything different from them about this issue I will post it.
Thanks,
Steve

It seems an obvious backwards step to me, but I don't think you fully appreciate how far backwards. In Fin05 you essentially have 3 simultaneous settings for mass edit. You have the Items to Copy, which works with drag-and-drop, and you can toggle between Move "Everything" using a menu item. (Scare quotes because it doesn't actually move everything.) In parallel you can alternately use clipboard copying from the Edit menu which has hard-wired settings that copy just about everything. These three simultaneous settings have been replaced by one. And the only way to change that one is to navigate the dialog box.
The silver lining for me is, I figure it increases the market for my Mass Copy plugin. Pretty silly for "engraver" copy and paste, ne?
