OK, I've got enough data points to make the claim that the Finale
2006 installer will erase important files from your Library folder.
This is from another user on the official Finale forum (my apologies
for quoting him in a different place, but I thought time was of the
essence.):
"Well, it did it again. I installed it on my Cube (1.2 GHz with 1GB
RAM) and afterwards my Application Support Folder in my User Library
folder was empty. I noticed it again when starting up Firefox after
the installation.
Copied then the stuff back over from the powerBook and once again
lost nothing, but this is not cool.

Leonard had missing files (such as his Firefox settings) after his
first install, restored those files from a backup and tried the
Finale 2006 install again. Once again his files were missing. This
happened to me as well and I think people should know about it and
take precautions.
