I run OS 10.3.9 ... is that Tiger or Panther, or House Cat, or which
animal? I can't remember which?

I take my word "most unlikely" back now.
Two people is enough to prove something is wrong in this magnitude.
So,
FinMac2006 installer seems to be overwriting some data under both ~/
Library/Application\ Support and ~/Library/Preferences.
Did FinMac2006 installer left a log at /Library/Receipts/ ? Previous
installers never did, even though VISEX supports it if MM wanted to.
