If your gear isn't powerful and up to date then you probably can't do lots of other stuff like play the latest games, run things like Photoshop/Indesign, use much DSP in Logic or Cubase or any of a host of other things. I don't like the idea that Finale should only utitlise technologies that can be harnessed by old iMacs and underpowered PCs. Logic has a new thing in it that can use other machines on the netowrk to distribute processing taks to, a total bit of genius for those of us with spare computers on the network. If you haven't got other machines in your room does that mean you should complain about that implementation? Seriously, you name me an alternative solution that could be bundled with Finale that sounds as good at this price point that doesn't need a lot of processing power - this is digital audio - it needs Ghz! While I agree with David that HP shouldn't be tied to NI implementation (I hadn't realised that it was) I wouldn't be at all suprised if that is opened out in future. Sorry - getting off topic. To answer the question, maybe nothing of use to you this time. There wasn't anything I much wanted after MacFin 98 right up until 2003. But just because you're not a part of the subset of users benefitting from the upgrade this time shouldn't be just cause to deride its merits or overlook the benefits to other users (ie: the logic distributed processing analogy).
