Hi Dean,
It may take you an hour, but you'll probably be much happier in the
end. Not to encourage rampant consumerism, but computers and
software simply get outdated faster than anything we have experienced
before, and it's always a day or tow of hassle before things settle
down with a new system. One of the new facts of life, seems to me.
I just want to encourage you, because I think the improvement will be
substantial, and obvious.

Hi Dean,
While you may be available, I shopping for a iMac G5 today ... a
couple of last questions (I hope). When I transfer data from my

My Midi configuration to my Roland Synth
I don't know. You may need to run Audio MIDI Setup again on the
new Mac after you hook everything up. Also, see below.
Files such as email, iPhoto, iCal, Address Book, iTunes, Etc.
All your documents and preferences will come through without a
hitch, including what you listed above.
Configuration for my highspeed internet connection
Again, I'm not sure. Probably, but I don't know for sure. You may
need to tweak your network settings.
Will the printer driver need to be reinstalled....
No.
And, Since the new computer will run Tiger, not my present Panther,
See, there's the rub. You will probably need to install new Tiger-
compatible drivers for your MIDI interface.
will Fin2006 load on the new Mac without problem if it's
running fine on the old one.
Probably, but you will also need to re-register Finale 2006 and GPO
Finale Edition.
