I can't remember Makemusic/Coda ever making a profit in recent years -

Partial-year profiles don't necessarily show all the important details.
Remember that each year's Finale upgrade comes in July or August,
third-quarter. And each September I am sure new sales of Finale and
PrintMusic go up as freshmen music majors go to college and have to buy
it as a course requirement.
I know of one college freshman (will be leaving for his freshman year in
another 2 weeks) who will have to purchase a subscription (sponsored by
his college) to SmartMusic.
So I wouldn't get too worried by the first-half numbers for MakeMusic.
I suspect they're always shaky.
