It's not so simple, actually. Appending "copy" to the filename is what
Finale does if you've told it to "make backups when saving" in the
Program Options. If you haven't set a specific bacup location (in
Program Options>Folders), it will make the backups right next to the
actual file. Then, when it backs up a second time, it adds "copy"
again to keep the filenames unique.

I would recommend creating a folder (somewhere in ~/Documents,
probably) called "Autosaves and Backups" and selecting that one as
your default location for autosave and auto-backup files. That way,
all of the backups with "copy" on them will be out of sight unless you
actually need to call on them.
