This thing won't let me go (Darcy, it's your fault! :-). I have a job
needs to be done by Monday! I promise this is my last post about FinMac Pref.

Here is something really, ur, interesting... scary... ur... no good.

Out of curiosity, I compared FinMac Preferences file created by OSX
versions and FinMac 97. As I said, the resource folk is binary so I
can't read the entire context, but many resource contents starts with "FIN3".

Woa. Is this mean it is still carrying the design done with FinMac v3?
One can only guess.

But then, Resource Folk ID 268 seems to contains MIDI port information
which points to MODEM PORT and/or PRINTER PORT?! This is definitely NOT
for OSX version natively!!

This appears on both FinMac 97 Preferences and FinMac 2006 Preferences.
This gives me an impression that Coda cut many corners to make Finale
OSX compatible whenever they could so they can spend their resources to
bigger problems.

To be clear, I am not blaming them. Finale v1.0 started on my MacPlus
in 1987. With this size of the program, they must lost a lot of money
when they reinvented Finale with v3, and I understand if they don't want
to do it again.
