I'll raise that to 4 cents. I did a 35 minute orchestra piece in 3 movements (almost 1100 measures), and the only noticeable slowdown was an increased delay before playback starting later in the piece. There are a few small extra details to handle, like measure numbers (easy), movement titles, and staff names at the beginning of movements (use staff styles), but having the whole score in one file makes part extraction at least an order of magnitude less hassle.
