Hi folks,

I have sent this to MM. If you agree with these requests, please let MM know.

Here are two ideas:

1) The ability to carry a GPO set up from one document to another would save a lot of time. This assumes that we are talking about documents already created that use the same instrumentation in the scores.

2) If expression/articulation placement is able to detect entries, can it be made doubly smart and also detect elements attached to entries? For example, if you use the European tie settings (outer placement), an accent that is nicely placed on an unadorned note will crash into the tie attached to any notes which are outside of the staff or on the outside lines of the staff. If that accent could be made to detect the presence of the tie, it would eliminate tweaking. Similarly, expressions which are correctly placed on notes which have no articulations can be automated to place themselves nicely, but the presence of an articulation on the note can make it necessary to edit expression placement.

I realize that meta tools can be programmed with multiple sets of expressions and articulations - for different situations, but that's a lot of work and mental clutter. Maybe it would be a good idea to do that with different settings for different circumstances but, if these things have been made smart, can they be made smarter? Seems to me this could effect a noticeable improvement in workflow.

Thanks for thinking about this.

Chuck
