I don't have Finale 2006 or GPO, so I could be completely
misunderstanding, but wouldn't saving the instruments library take
care of getting most of a GPO setup into another document?

Tell you the truth, I haven't tried this lately (in 2005 or 6). Maybe it would carry the channel assignments (and that would save part of the work involved), but there's the whole business of loading the samples into the GPO editing windows - 8 spaces for instruments in each "editor" and then assigning those channels that you have filled to the corresponding staves (that's the part of the work that might be done by an instrument library transfer). It's tedious. This is done automatically by the setup wizard in new scores, but I'm doing some editing of older files, and it takes about ten minutes of concentrated work to get the set up done. Maybe not so long in life terms, but when you are working on several of these, it does wear on you.

Did anyone else have an opinion on the expression/articulation placement issue?

Chuck

What else is there in GPO setup that is document-specific that would
not be saved there?
