I see.
Next question is that how many people actually experienced this ["scary bug!"]
I've counted three. all (I think) on MAC: Javier, Darcy, and Don. On the other hand other MAC power users who I would have expected to experience the bug (Johannes, Robert Patterson) hae not reported experienceing it. This combination of factors suggests to me that it may be a consequence of a non-Finale issue.

I would note too, that Darcy has described work habits that I could must not be very comfortable with, based upon my experience with computers. The mere thought of having a score and a complete set of parts all open at the same time, or of automatically agreeing to save all changes to every file regardless of whether any real edits had been done is sufficient to make me verrrrrry uncomfortable. [NB: I do not mean to criticize Darcy's work habits, any more than I criticize people who, for recreation, enjoy free-fall skydiving, or for that matter people who eat "steak tartare"; it's a big world, and they are welcome to work, play, or eat, in such manner as they wish. Me, though, I like my meat cooked through, I can't imagine exiting a perfectly good aircraft at an altitude of more than 0 inches, when I've reached a convenient place to save a file—such as when I go to another file for more than referrence purposes—I do, twice—once each to two differrent hard drives; and I don't save a file unless I'm sure why I want to.

I suppose this would mirror my habits if I were doing hand copying of a score and parts, using pen and iink; I expect I'd be working on one surface, one one page, and pages that I was not actively working on would be on a shelf, or another work surface, so that if I spilled the ink, or sneezed, I would minimize the adverse consequences to the smallest possible number of documents.
