This is pretty easy if you're using augmentation/diminution multiples of 2 (25%, 50%, 200%, 400%), but still possible for other, less symmetric, changes. The process isn't foolproof and will need editing, but it's a lot easier than Firstly, you change the time signature and make sure "Rebar Music" is unchecked. This will leave all the same notes in each bar, even if each measure is overfull or not quite full. If it's a simple ratio, you can use Mass Edit > Change > Note Durations to multiply or divide all note values to fit in the new time signature. Otherwise, you can use the "Change selected note duration" feature to change the notes one duration at a time (for instance, all dotted quarters can be changed to half notes). It's a little harder to change notes smaller than a beat in this instance unless the change is consistent. If quarter-eighth in 6/8 always becomes quarter-quarter or dotted quarter-eighth, it'll be fairly simple, but if not you've got your work cut out for you. However, the Change Note Durations feature will definitely make this much easier than modifying each note one by one. -- Brad Beyenhof [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://augmentedfourth.blogspot.com Silence will save me from being wrong (and foolish), but it will also deprive me of the possibility of being right. ~ Igor Stravinsky _______________________________________________ Finale mailing list [email protected] http://lists.shsu.edu/mailman/listinfo/finale
