I'm starting to work with WinFin2006a, and have these questions:
1) I recall people complaining about the ctrl-shift-click method of
copying, where a dialogue asking what we want copied comes up each time
I try to ctrl-shift-click to copy a measure. This requires 2 clicks
instead of the former behavior requiring only 1 click. Has there been
any solution to this stupid behavior? When I click-drag I get no such
dialog, and in previous versions I never got this additional dialog. If
there is any way to turn this behavior off, could someone remind me of
it please?
2) I am having great difficulty in placing note-attached expressions. I
have the options set as I always have, and in previous versions, when I
click on a note, or with the cursor as a solid black cursor pointing
directly at a note, Finale has placed note-attached expressions, and
when the cursor is the white one, Finale has placed measure-attached
expressions. In WinFin2006a, it doesn't matter what the cursor looks
like, I'm getting measure-attached expressions. The radio-button in the
expression dialog isn't changing when the cursor changes. I can find no
place where I can change this behavior. Is there something I'm
overlooking, or is this a broken behavior? Do I really have to check
the radio button EACH time I click, no matter whether the cursor
indicates note-attached or measure-attached?
Thanks -- I'm rapidly growing more convinced that WinFin2005 may be my
vehicle of choice!
Hesitating to reply to my own whining, I did find the solution to #2
although I don't recall ever having to do this before -- if I click the
radio button to Note-Attached, that setting is remembered from setting
to setting, and is what is placed when the cursor is the solid-black
one, and when the cursor is the white one which indicates
measure-attached, I really get measure-attached expressions.
In previous versions I seem to recall I simply moved the cursor to show
the type I wanted and the program figured it out automatically. For now
I've solved that problem, but I'd still appreciate any assistance in
removing that extra step for ctrl-shift-click copying.
Thanks.
