Has anyone else had any trouble with Finale forgetting MIDI ports

Constantly, with my Midiman USB 4x4.

And then it requiring a restart to get it happening again?

And if so, have a solution?

With me it generally works if I open MIDI setup, switch IN to "none",
then back again. On occasion I need to reboot the computer (!),
though sometimes restarting Finale cures it if the first thing
doesn't do it.

I don't know what else to say. The tech support from the interface company said not to put my Mac to sleep to avoid the problem. Ha!

Thanks to everyone for the confirmation of the problem. I've been resorting to unplugging the USB MIDI interface (an emagic MT4) and replugging it in again. Sometimes it works, sometimes not. But this method is probably not recommended as last night I think I wrecked it - there is no USB connection at all any more from the interface to the computer. Even reinstalling the entire system didn't help.

From what people are saying, is it the hardware that's the problem, or the software? I don't usually have this problem with Logic, but always do with Finale. Even just starting Finale, quitting it, and then starting Logic usually requires a restart to get my ports back.

Matthew
