I get that blank page all the time after extracting part, but a manual
layout update will always solve it.

You could even make a Finalescript that says:

//process all open docs
process folder
//process subdirectories

update layout

That will do a "manual update layout" for all files in a specified
folder. You can change the commenting ("//" at the beginning of a line
marks it as a comment, so that line will not un as part of the script)
to process all open documents instead, or to allow the script to work
on all subfolders of the selected folder in addition.

I recently did this (applied the "update layout" command to the
beginning of the Batch Printing script), and it worked perfectly.
