Use staff sets (get Robert's staff sets plugin to handle them more efficiently), to make your score easier to work with. Is that plugin in the standart distribution of Finale? Im working on finale2004 under MacOSX

No, you can download it from here:

They are not free, but you can try them for free for 30 days. Highly recommended.

Yea, i did that first, but when free parts arrive everything changes, and dont know why the others non-free part changes too!

I am afraid I don't follow: what do you mean by "free parts arrive"?

In case you mean that you don't want certain parts to appear in the score, this is done by optimization. It will only work in page view, and you should do that when you do the layout, certainly not before.

You should then also get TGTools (another not entirely free plugin) which you find at
htttp://www.tgtools.de

The layout tools for optimized scores are invaluable when working with complex orchestral scores.

On the other hand, if you are very organized and get the layout sorted out on the first go, you may not need TGTools. But in my experience this is rarely the case.
