No, actually, it should link everything, with the option to unlink everything individually. From what I understand this is how Sibelius does it for the most part.

It needs to be possible to eg move an expression only in the 2nd violin part, while this doesn't move it globally. Ideally it should even be possible to create ossias only in the parts etc.

However, while I agree that this requires some rather well thought out design, I am sure it is possible. I just hope that if and when MM decides to go this way (which I am certain will happen eventually) they make sure that such fundamental design problems as they introduced with the GPO wizard will not happen. With the GPO wizard this is relatively easy to fix without compatibility problems. With linked parts a wrong decision in the basic design might make the whole thing completely useless with no hope of ever fixing it.

We'll see.
