It's not about what it does. It's about what makes it effective within the
context of the software. There are several veteran users who have looked
right past it all these years, never registering what it meant or that it
might have been something we were looking for. An adjustment of terms would
nicely accommodate this previously unavailable action without referring to
the documentation which doesn't index it anyway!

It's not those who 'get it' that clarify; it's those who fail to 'get it'
that do that. I'm not arguing this as a fine point, but as an example of
the *cascade* of failures that demonstrate the need for a full-scale
overhaul of the program's plane of contact with its users.
