Yes, look into the figured bass font suggested by Johannes. I use it and
like it - perhaps not the most attractive typeface (as some have complained
on this list), but once you've entered a couple of pages worth of figures,
it's very easy and fast to use.
I'll also second what Johannes says about the Finale chord tool - useless
for figured bass. -LK

The easiest method is to get a specialized font, which includes figures at
different positions, which can be easily combined. Have a look at
http://www.ansgarkrause.de/fonts.htm
I have used the Figured Bass font in the past, but I have eventually made
my own font, using the same principal.
Figured bass is not really well supported in Finale, and this is by far the
fastest way to enter it. Don't try to mess with the chord tool, it is
useless for figured bass.
