My method is a stupidity-protection system, too.

Ha! Yes, and well-put at that. I complained loudly when Finale lost my data for me (maybe four or five times in the last four years, and none of it irretrievable) but in reality, I have personally been responsible for ten times as much data loss, mostly irretrievable, with nobody to blame but myself (wrong keystroke, sloppy, lazy, too tired, or general stupidity.)

You might be happy to know that starting two days ago I started incremental saving of Finale files. It is even fewer keystrokes on my Mac that you described on your Windows setup, so it is quite easy.

And of course, true to form, the mere fact that I am doing it will probably guarantee that I will never have to use it to recover data ever again.

Stupidity insurance. Can I afford NOT to have it?
