I am formatting this message on my old iMac because my new G5 is in the shop. A couple of mornings ago, I tried connecting to the net and it was no go all of the sudden. None of the browsers or mail would respond and launch. All the other aps seemed nornal. And, I guess this is more than a coincidence, my Fin 2006 b and d versions would not launch either. However, the original 2006 version would. So, after an hour of talking to my ISP tech, who determined that all my settings and address were correct, and the modem (I'm on Comcast High Speed, connected to the computer via ethernet cable) were ok, they referred me to Apple tech. After trying just about everything in the book, including reinstalling the OS from the original 10.4 disks, we couldn't make any internet connection. The Apple guys thought it was still an ISP problem, but suggested I take the G5 to the shop, where it now resides. As you can see, if this message gets out, apparently the ISP is not the problem. As to why the Fin upgrade aps wouldn't launch, I'm clueless ... which is not a unusual state for me, as you well know. Any thoughts?
