I think things will get interesting with OS X 10.5 which, depending if you believe rumors or not, will have virtualization built in. IE: You can run, on an Intel Mac, Windows or whatever within OS X.

Kind of like the software released the other day.

I suppose you could also keep a dual boot available as well if you wanted to game or something.

I've seen this in action. I'm taking a class, and one of my classmates
can dual boot his Dell laptop in OSX. A LOT of stuff doesn't work, but
at least he can use X-Code to work in a familiar IDE. I don't see much
use for it if most of your hardware doesn't work.
On the other hand, I think being able to run windows on a mac is only
going to help apple. I'm kinda wishing I'd have waited on my PC upgrade
now. Apple has removed the last reason that I would hesitate to buy a
mac: I've got $1000's of PC software from my 12 years of computing that
I'd have to replace, not to mention all my freeware tools.

I'm sure that soon enough, based on what I've seen about these new Intel
chips, that you'll be able to run multiple OS's simultaneously on these
machines...
