Actually, Chris, these must be old settings. "Avoid Accidentals" is
fine so long as the initial adjustment is *lift* -- NOT stretch --
see below. Space around accidentals I put at 1.5 points.

No. Initial adjustment should be definitely be LIFT.
Maximum lift should be at least 12 points.
Here are his settings, in Maestro:
Barlines 4.5 EVPU
Staff lines 3.5 EVPU
Actually, I use 2.5 EVPUs for staff lines. I like it when barlines,
stems, and staff lines are all set to different thicknesses.
