I have a hunch, that there are advantages for the one file rout. For example,
for purposes of creating a booklet, it'd be much easier to make this just ONE
file. Using the FinaleScript would be difficult to figure out on three separate
documents. But I have trouble doing this:typically when I go to extract parts,
I end up with the first movement measure and the beginning of the 2nd movement
side by side. There isn't any spacing like you see in the score. And the
movement tempo/headers are just put on the page.

Personally I put all my multi-movement pieces in one file. No exception. I don't work on Bruckner symphonies either, but I have done some rather long pieces. Occasionally Finale does get a little slow, but otherwise the advantages of having one file are by far larger than having multiple files.

The tools for making this work most efficiently are:

- Every first measure of a movement should have the option to start a new staff system checked. - Every final movement measure should have the option to hide cautionary key and time sigs checked. - Movement tempo indications should be measure expressions, placed at start of time sig. The stafflists should be set to always show on top staff in both score and parts. - If you use Textblocks for movement titles, you are in for some trouble. The easiest way to deal with those is to prepare a parts score, and then change them all to measure attached textblocks, attached to the first measure of the movement, and then change them back after extraction, and after the layout has been set. This is one area where Finale desperately needs improvements.

Where do you find the booklet creation script also? I use Finale 2005b.

Finale script: print booklet. Read the command reference (which is a script inside Finale script)

Would using Acrobat to "stich" multiple separate movements/documents be an
option versus using FinaleScript booklet ?

Well, it's an option, but imo not the best one.
