I have the Microsoft Comfort Wireless Keyboard and Mouse and have had
them for 3 months and haven't had to change either set of batteries yet.
One warning about wireless (keyboards at least) is that you need to keep
a wired keyboard around for those rare times when you might be
confronted with the BIOS setup screen or the "windows did not exit in
the usual manner" dialogue where you can select safe mode or others or
normal mode. Wireless devices don't start working until the OS
recognizes them.
