Although clearly a nuisance, playback is easily accomplished with invisible tuplets. You can use my Mass Copy plugin to replicate tuplets easily, both vertically and horizontally, avoiding the pain of having to set them up more than once.

All I'm saying is that "irrational time sigs" (which I contend are not time sigs at all, but rather a shorthand notation for metric modulation) will likely never be implemented directly in Finale (unless Sib does it first). But ymmv. In any case the workarounds available now, esp. replicatable with Mass Copy, are both reliable and relatively painless.

Having read the replies, I still don't get it.

Select "Horizontal Click Position" for the Meas attached horizontal positioning. (It's that by default.) Any time you attach such an exp to a measure, it is attached to the metrical position where you clicked. If you want precise placement use the assignment dialog after placing it.

all stem connections working correctly.

That's exactly what Stem Connections are for: Document Options->Stems. Press "Stem Connections".
