I am aware there are quite a few folks on the list that prepare early music editions. My question for you: how long on average does it take you from start to finish on a project?

I know this can vary for a lot of reasons, such as length of the particular composition, or ornaments, and complex or sophisticated articulation / slurs and double dotted notes. But still, I'm curious.

This is a really pointless question -- perhaps asking how long someone takes for a very specific type of work, such as a Corelli Concerto Grosso.

But asking such a general question is meaningless -- the answer will be anywhere from a couple of hours for an unaccompanied single-movement work to several years for the complete works of a single composer.
