Johannes - Thanks for your cogent comments.
They are appreciated. One question, though: How does a student learn
ornamentation (especially at the level of virtuosity suggested by the literature
of the time, early to mid 18th century) without something to guide
him/her? And, what if the student's teacher is unfamiliar or uncomfortable
with the free addition of ornaments in the style of the piece?
