Dear list, I sent this message a couple of days ago and didn't get any responses, so I'll try again:
Is there an easier way than the following workaround to get proper playback from Finale when there is a passage within a repeated section that is only meant to be played the second time? 1) Create a text expression that shows up as "Play 2nd X only" and assign it to the appropriate staff in the score. Set the playback to change the key velocity value to 72 (or whatever your default is) and set "Play Only on Pass" to 2. 2) Create *another* text expression that is hidden (name it "tacet 1st X" or whatever you want) and assign it to the same staff. Set its playback to change the key velocity value to zero and set "Play Only on Pass" to 1. This works, but it seems awfully convoluted. Does anyone have a better solution?
