I have a strong suspicion that you do not fully understand what color matching is about, and what it does. Of course any color matching system will need to do some computing, but no PPC processor will know anything about colors unless you tell it.

Color Sync, which is Apples way of doing color matching across hard- and software, works within the software, although undoubtedly it uses the cpu to actually compute it. But so does Finale to render the music, yet there is nothing on the chip that understands anything about music.

Yarc, as you correctly quote, is a RIP. A rip can have built in color matching, but that doesn't say anything about the color matching done before the data is sent to the rip.

Either you misunderstood something, or someone told you complete nonsense.
